Centerplan Construction Company LLC has done a number of projects for Community Health Center, Inc. including a renovation of an existing building in Waterbury, Connecticut into a new, state-of-the-art medical facility offering the areaís first Comprehensive Primary Medial Care Facility. This facility is comprised of fourteen medical exam rooms, a complete dental department offering dental cleaning and x-ray, phlebotomy and laboratory services, breast and cervical cancers detection as well as behavior health counseling and crisis care. This fast-tracked project was completed on time and within budget in only 42 days. Some of the design details include modern design finishes, hand crafted solid-wood cabinetry, hi-tech voice and video communication systems and energy efficient lighting, heating and air conditioning.
The CHC New London project was a phased remodeling of an existing health care center. In order to keep operations running smoothly for the health care provider, a series of compartmentalized construction phases were implemented that allowed the center to maintain full operations during the construction process. Temporary partitions, negative air applications, and second-and-third-shift work were used to solve problems associated with maintaining operations. As with our other projects for the Community Health Center, Inc., a number of high end finishes were applied such as custom millwork, and unique lighting packages, including the retrofit of the existing roofing to include skylights. Medical applications included sterilization rooms, medical gas and vacuum lines, dental equipment rough-in and install, and x-ray assemblies. Patient amenities included sound rated rooms for confidential counseling, ADA compliant restroom and seating facilities, increased waiting area space, and interactive check-in systems.
The CHC School-Based Health Center at Woodrow Wilson Middle School was a fit out of an existing space within a Connecticut school. The project consisted of the demolition of approximately 1,500 square feet of existing classrooms and offices, the abatement of existing asbestos containing materials and a complete rebuild to the clients specifications. Along with a number of high end finishes, specialty applications were used, including sound-rated doors and partitions, the installation of medical grade electrical systems, equipment and accessories, and custom millwork reception desks and storage cabinets. This project was completed on an extremely tight budget and schedule, as the re-fit of the space was performed during the schoolís summer break.
